CHAPTER 907 <br />BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE <br />(Amended during Council Meeting 12/19/05) <br />907.01 PURPOSE: The purpose of this Chapter shall be to identify, define, <br />coordinate and recommend beautification projects and improvements in The <br />Village of Mayfield. <br />907.02 BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS AND IMPROVEMENTS: Beautification <br />projects and improvements include, but are in no way limited to what is known as <br />ephemera which is more fully defined to mean accessories or enhancements that <br />serve to evaluate the visual and temporal environment in a manner that is <br />pleasurable, comforting and/or satisfying and thus benefits of the common good. <br />These beautification projects and improvements may include, but are not limited <br />to, neighborhood entrances, bridges and culverts, main street and side street <br />rights-of-way, parks, trail=ways and similar amenities, . public landscaping, <br />signage and related art works. <br />907.03 BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE: The Beautification Committee <br />shall consist of three (3) members of Council (2 regular, 1 alternate); anyone of <br />the following required or requested Service Director, Building Commissioner, <br />Engineer and/or other department head as required or requested, one (1) <br />member of the Garden Club; one (1) member of Citizen's Advisory; one (1) <br />member of the 20/20 Vision and Implementation Committee, one (1) member <br />from each Home Owner's Association and/or designated neighborhood <br />representative where no Home Owner's Association exists. Keeping in mind <br />those efforts must be made to include a representative of each neighborhood or <br />Main Street, and two (2) designated representatives of the Mayfield Village <br />business community. Each member shall be a voting member on this committee. <br />907.04 STANDARDS: The Beautification Committee shall be charged viewing <br />Mayfield Village as a whole when reviewing common designing or recommending <br />the projects and improvements defined above, and shall work in concert with the <br />Architectural Review Board and the Planning and Zoning Commission to suggest <br />standards and standardization of materials, styles, uniformity as well as diversity <br />with regard to new projects, new construction, upgrading existing properties, <br />buildings and appurtenances both residential and commercial. The <br />Beautification Committee may work with or make recommendations directly to <br />the appropriate department, board, commission or committee and will ultimately <br />report on all such matters to Council prior to making any such recommendation. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />TO ORDINANCE NO. 2005-56 <br />AMENDED DURING COUNCIL MEETING 12/19/05 <br />
