Regular Council Minutes
1/24/OS
Page 12
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
Doulzlas Metzung (Service) said our long-time secretary, Maudie Lou Walters, will be retiring
February 28.
Mrs. Cinco asked if there will be a party for her.
Mr. Metzung said there will be something in the works; she asked that it not be anything major.
John Marrelli (Building) - said I have 2 items of business. We had a new dentist move into Mt.
Vernon, Don Castellarin, who opened as of last week and the Skoda, Minotti building will be
receiving final inspection this week.
Llovd Chapman (Propertv Manager) - said the Lazzaro property that was purchased a few
months ago, through our Service Department has been nicely renovated. It only needs flooring
and we are taking quotes on the flooring. We expect to advertise that for rent in February and
have that property rented out shortly. I do have a real estate purchase coming up in Executive
Session that you had it in your packets and we will talk about that then. The Fairmount Center
folks are only going to be using one classroom one evening this spring. Then, from preliminary
discussion with them, they do plan revenue sharing based upon revenues that they might
generate in that facility so we are continuing to meet with them to figure out what space they
might need and when and how we might structure that from a revenue standpoint. I will be back
to Council with that information as I receive it.
Tom Hanculak (Legal) - Mr. Hanculak said some exciting news: Ms. Calta had a baby girl at
2:30 this morning, Madelyne. The baby is doing great and mom is doing good.
Mayor Rinker said we heard that Diane is already taking messages.
Philip Brett (Finance) said I am working on the budget and that is about it.
William Thomas (Parks & Recreation) - Mr. Thomas said we had 33 skiers go to Holymount
Ski Trip on Martin Luther King Day. Everybody had a great time. Unfortunately the
temperatures were well below zero so you didn't stay out very long. We had Ice Daze this past
Saturday and I think we had about 50 people; we had about 2001ast year. The department is in
the final stages for completing the spring/summer Parks & Recreation Brochure. It will be
mailed out in early march.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the Activities Committee will be meeting in early
February to make plans for the Appreciation Dinner and how we're going to get everyone to fit
into this room. There are a few other things to work out and a couple of activities-we have 2
more Singing Angels' concerts coming up.

Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli said Architectural Review Board had no meeting
for the month of January; no report.
