KALINA, M.A. <br />Director of Human Services <br />The annual Appreciation Luncheon for Mayfield Village employees hosted by <br />the C.O.A: was last Monday, February 14. Almost 50 people attended and <br />ei:joyed an excellent meal and good camaraderie. <br />Thanks to the Village Hall personnel for p&)sting the need for Meals on <br />Wheels' volunteers on the announcement board at the corner. <br />On February 2 I attended the meeting of Cuyahoga County Municipal <br />Oifices on Aging Association. The Pre-White House Conference on Aging is <br />dcwntown June 6. Topics will be focusecl on healthcare, education and <br />rECreation, income security, employment, caregiving, and housing. If <br />Council would approve the cost of renting a bus to transport seniors, I <br />would be happy to promote the day to seniors in the community. <br />I a.m submitting copies of the Resolution in Support of Protecting Social <br />Security which was also presented at the aforementioned meeting. If. <br />Ccuncil sees fit to endorse this resolution I w'ill forward it to the <br />aFpropriate office. <br />Tre Card Group is going well. It is a bright spot in the lives of the <br />participants especially with the winter weather we have experienced this <br />ye.ar. <br />Reservations are being accepted for seniors wishing to attend the high <br />school's spring musical March 10. There is no charge for this event, but <br />tickets are required. The deadline for reservations is MarcH 4. This year's <br />_pi-oduction is Chi? l?dr_en. of Eden. <br />Members of the Mayfield Methodist Church are sponsoring an outreach <br />pi-ogram Sunday, April 24 to assist seniors and others in need of help with <br />projects such as.yard work, painting, cleaning, and small plumbing and <br />e'ectrical problems. If council members know of persons who might avail <br />tremselves of these services, please submit their names, addresses, and <br />ph.one numbers to me, and I will pass them along. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />n <br />in <br />Eunice G.
