Regular Council Meeting <br />3-19-01 <br />Page 2 <br />Mr. Thomas extended a thank-you to the Kenwood Homeowner's Association for their approval <br />of $650 for a park bench at Parkview Pool. He said he will be meeting with 25 volunteer youth <br />coaches and expressed thanks to the Service Department for the nice landscaping at Parkview <br />Pool. <br />STANDING COMNIlTTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the Activities Committee met and discussed the <br />Appreciation Dinner. Feedback would be appreciated. Volunteers are needed for the upcoining <br />events starting with the Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the Committee met March 8 and approved a new <br />home on Echo Drive. The renovation request for the Shell gas station was discussed. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting other than the Organizational Meeting. <br />There will be a meeting March 20. <br />Cemeterv - Mrs. Mills said Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village will meet <br />on March 24. The students from the Horticulture Center have been working at the Cemetery <br />doing a lot of pruning and they are starting to repair some of the cemetery stones. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said they met February 26. The committee enjoyed the <br />Appreciation Dinner and thought it was very tasteful. They requested Sandy Batcheller fill John <br />Barni's position on the S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee and she has attended her first <br />meeting. Mr. Metzung gave an upda.te on the S.O.M. Center widening project. Rob Jamieson <br />gave a nice report on B.F.I recycling. He prepared a flier (that Council should have received <br />with the CAC minutes.) The committee requests this flier be included in the next Voice of the <br />Village. They requested tha.t Mayor Rinker or Mr. Brett attend the next meeting (April 30); they <br />have questions on the church property. Mrs. Cinco said she had mentioned they could come to <br />Council meetings to find potential projects as they like to be involved with decisions and <br />proj ects. <br />Commission on Aging - The report from Mrs. Kalina, Human Services Director, is attached. <br />Drainage and Infrastructure - Mrs. Cinco said the committee met March lst. They went to <br />Hanover Woods; she believes they will get some costs on that. Regarding the Hickory Hill area, <br />they are finding out about easements and in contact with the Law Director and what cost would <br />be for some projects before the cornmittee recommends they be approved. Council should be <br />getting something next month on these projects with some definite numbers. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said the committee met March 5. They discussed and approved <br />the laser radar gun. They discussed moving the Opticom equipment which was also discussed by <br />the Finance Committee. She believes they agreed to hold off on that_ The annual water charge <br />was approved and referred to the Finance Committee.
