Regular Council Meeting
6-18-01
Page 5
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ilacqua,
Mrs. Mills
NAYS: Council President 1Vlarquardt and Dr. Parker
Motion Carried
Special Use Permit Granted
• A motion to authorize payment of the first installment of the Parkview Pool loan from
Progressive in the amount of $379,965.82.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize payment of the first installment of
the Parkview Pool loan from Progressive in the amount of $379,965.82.
Mr. Brett said he sent to Council "how that shakes out" and the interest rates that it is based on.
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ilacqua,
Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Payment Authorized
• Street Striping -$10,359.50 to Prime Time Striping, Inc.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of
$10,359.50 to Prime Time Striping, Inc. for street striping.
Mrs. Cinco said she liked the tour to research this item. The contractor will come back to re-do the
job if necessary.
Mayor Rinker said there had been a question as to the quality of work we anticipate from this
particular contractor who is new to the Village. We had compared it with one of the other bidders
who we've had experience with before. He asked what determinations have been made since.
Mr. Metzung said he toured the sole reference they had listed (East Cleveland.) He was
"underwhemed." He contacted the contractor who explained that they let the job go very late in the
year. The contractor had informed East Cleveland that he didn't feel the striping would hold up and
they told him to go ahead with the job. He did--and the striping did not hold up. He is back out
painting (at his cost) to restripe it in an attempt to show good faith. He said if something like that
should happen in Mayfield Village, he will give us that same type of guarantee.
Council President Marquardt asked if there were any other comments.
There were no comments.
