Regular Council Meeting <br />6-17-02 <br />Page 25 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />NOTE: This item was removed from the agenda: A motion to authorize an expenditure in the <br />amount of $15,759 to Pat Flowers for the 2002 street striping program. <br />• A motion to authorize payment in the amount of $750,000 in principal and $37,125 in <br />interest to Progressive Casualty Insurance Company to retire the Parkview Pool loan. <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize payment in the amount of $750,000 <br />in principal and $37,125 in interest to Progressive Casualty Insurance Company to retire the <br />Parkview Pool loan. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments. <br />There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 2002-20, entitled; "An emergency ordinance amending certain <br />provisions of the Building Code set forth in Chapfer 1321." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and <br />Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read. on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2002- 20. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments. <br />Mr. Samac expressed thanks to Council for their passing (hopefully) this immediately. One of the <br />reason being our ISO rating went down 2 points because of our failure to have adopted the latest <br />model code. <br />Mr. Marquardt asked what does that mean to us? <br />Mr. Samac explained that housing and commercial building rates are somewhat affected by your <br />ISO rating; the higher your rating, the better break you get. IY s a minute amount of money for <br />residents but it does matter. This will bring us back up to where we were (which is a little better <br />than middle of the road.) I need to submit it to them by August, so I would appreciate your <br />[Council] passing it on emergency. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />25
