MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />Apri121, 2003 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, Apri121, 2003, at 8:10 p.m. <br />in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill Buckholtz <br />presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie, <br />Mrs. Mills, Dr. Parker and Mr. Riter <br />Absent: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Metzung, Chief Mohr <br />Also Present: Mr. Brett, Lt. Dearden, Mr. Diemert, Mr. Hovancsek, <br />Mr. Samac, Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Roman <br />Council President Buckholtz said the Planned Residential District legislation will be on our <br />regular agenda. I know a lot of people have comments or questions but I'd like to defer that right <br />now to an explanation by the Law Director and the Building Commissioner who will give us a <br />little background and a little understanding. Mr. Dave Hartt, who helped us draft this legislation <br />and who is familiar with it from a number of other communities, is in the audience. <br />Mr. Samac said I have copies of the proposed ordinance if anyone would like a copy. (Mr. <br />Samac and Mr. Marrie distributed copies to members of the audience.) <br />Village Law Director Joseph Diemert said the subject matter of the Public Hearing is Ordinance <br />2003-02: An ordinance creating a new zoning classification for Planned Residential <br />Development District known as Chapter 1159 of the Village's Codified Owdinances <br />Mr. Diemert said let me first explain what the difference is in the creating of a new District and <br />the rezoning of land. What's happening with this ordinance is not rezoning of land. It does not <br />change one parcel or one piece of land within this community from its existing zoning. All it <br />does is create under 1153.01 a new District, which, if the voters approve-somebody's land <br />could be changed or rezoned to this classification. <br />We currently have in the Village of Mayfield a number of different zoning classifications: <br />¦ U-1, single-family; <br />¦ U-2, two-family house districts; <br />¦ U-3, aparhnent house districts; <br />¦ U-3AA, restricted multi-story apartment house district; <br />¦ Local Business Zoning District <br />¦ Small Office Zoning District <br />¦ Motorist Service District <br />¦ Office/Laboratory District <br />¦ Production/Distribution (or industrial-type) District.
