Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, November 20, 2017
Page 9

First Reading of Ordinance No. 2017-40, entitled, "An Ordinance ainending Section
1329.01 of the Codified Ordinances adopting the 2017 Ohio Building Code." Introduced
by Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole. (Building)
Ordinance No. 2014-40 moved to Second Read.
Resolution No. 2017-12, entitled, "A Resolution adopting the Cuyahoga County 2017-
2022 All-Hazards Mitigation Plan." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar and Council as a
Whole. (Fire)
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Jerome, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2017-12.
Mr. Saponaro asked, discussion?
Chief Carcioppolo stated, this is the All-Hazards Mitigation Plan which is basically an initiative
that the Federal Government wants to have in place if there were ever a natural disaster. The
County prepares all this legislation for all the municipalities in the County. Each local
jurisdiction has to identify the hazards in their community and then they give the packet back to
the County. The County then has them adopt this Resolution so in the event there was a natural
disaster, we are all unified. That way if we did call for assistance and it was a deemed natural
disaster that the Federal Government recognized, they could send the money down from a
Federal level through the County and then they can disburse it to the local municipalities.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. Does anyone have any questions regarding this?
There were none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Resolution Adopted
[kW OTHER MATTERS :
Council President Saponaro asked, are there any other matters that may come before Council?
There were none.
