Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, December 18, 2017
Page 2
WHEREAS, Tommy was Council representative to many Committees and Boards. He spent
countless hours volunteering with his wife Carole and family at various community events for
the benefit of the residents of Mayfield Village and beyond;
WHEREAS, through the years, Tommy's thoughtful words, deeds and actions have been
appreciated by many and have not gone unnoticed. Sincerity and sympathy for others, patience,
humbleness, unselfishness, thoughtfulness and self-control are only some of the many traits
Tommy possesses which clearly characterize the gentleman that he is;
WHEREAS, Tommy and Carole have been happily married for over 60 years and have 6
children, 14 grandchildren and most recently a great-grandchild. Tommy did not seek re-
election in order to spend more quality time, traveling and creating memories with Carole and
family; and
WHEREAS, Tommy's concern for the residents of Mayfield Village was evident during his
terms as Mayfield Village Council-at-Large and should not go unnoticed without an expression
of appreciation that he rightfully deserves for his devoted service. We thank him for his
humbleness, his kindness, his constant giving to others and most importantly his friendship. He
will be greatly missed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE,
OHIO, THAT:
Tommy Marrie be and is hereby recognized for
his many years of dedicated and exceptional service to Mayfield Village.
On behalf of Mayor Bodnar, his fellow Council members and the residents
of Mayfield Village, Ohio, we wish him many years of good health and happiness.
SECTION 1. The Village of Mayfield, its Mayor, Council, residents, employers,
employees and officials wish to thank for Thomas J. Marrie for his many years of dedicated and
tireless service. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council
relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and
that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took
place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the
requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate
original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Thomas J. Marrie.
The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village as a lasting tribute to
Thomas J. Marrie.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective upon its adoption by Council and the
signature of the Mayor, or as may otherwise be provided by law.
