Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, August 19, 2019
Page 2
hour until the construction company completes the rest of the landscaping and striping. Thank
you.
OPEN PORTION
— For Public Comment (5 -minute limit imposed by Chair)
Mary Murphy
816 Hardwood Court
Mine's a compliment, not a criticism. I just wanted to speak on Wilson Mills and the street and
the bike path. It's wonderful. It's just finished off that East Quadrant of the Village. I want to
thank you for all of the efforts between police and Council and residents. It's just lovely. The
sidewalk's been open about a month and the foot traffic, the buggy traffic, the bike traffic, I love
it. It's looping through Hanover where I am. It's just a nice loop through there. I just wanted to
compliment you and thank you for getting that done. It's really making that east section of the
Village great.
Council President Pro Tem Meyers stated, thank you.
Ron DiNardo
6728 Seneca
You currently have in front of you Resolution 2019-51 with regards to creating a park on
Thornapple in Ward 1. I would like Council to consider tabling that until you get input from
Ward 2 and Ward 1 with a formal committee asking the residents what they'd like to see there
before any resolution is enacted upon. I still don't understand why you want to encumber a piece
of property if you just want to put a bench on it. It's greenspace currently. There's no reason to
encumber the property to put a bench on it and be done with it. I would like to see that a
committee is formed and you can talk to the residents, a survey is sent out and you may ask them
what they would like to see there. I would like to be on that committee because I own the parcel
adjacent to the proposed park. That's all I have to say.
Council President Pro Tem Meyers stated, thank you Mr. DiNardo.
Steve Jerome
665 Robley Lane
Two items I wanted to quickly discuss that are on the agenda tonight.
The first one is Resolution 2019-51. I am not sure why it needs to be a resolution at this point. I
know I brought it up at a meeting about a year and a half ago at a sewer conversion meeting
about fixing up the curb there to make things safer for residents getting around that turn driving
and/or walking. I walk sometimes there. I thought you would look at it then while you were
doing the project with the road. There was also residents present at that meeting. I thought that
