J-11
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, October 21, 2019
Page 11
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2019-21, entitled, "An Ordinance appropriating funds
for current expenses and expenditures of Mayfield Village, Ohio for the period from
January 1, 2020 and ending March 31, 2020 and declaring an emergency." Introduced by
Mayor Bodnar. (Finance Department) (Read in title only)
Ordinance No. 2019-21 moved to second Read.
Resolution No. 2019-65, entitled, "An emergency resolution repealing Resolution 2019-
61 that authorized and directed the Mayor and President of Council to enter into a Natural
Gas Sales Agreement with NextEra Energy Services, Ohio, LLC in order to enroll in the
preferred NOPEC Municipal Pricing Program." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar
(Administration)
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2019-65.
Council President Saponaro asked, discussion? Tony, do you want to clue us in on this just to
make sure we have it clear for the record?
Mr. Coyne stated, sure and if you look at the next Resolution that you will be addressing, it has
to do with the NOPEC contract which is in your materials. Basically the unit charge fluctuates
on almost a weekly basis so when we originally passed this we did not have the contract to be
executed immediately and the price changed somewhat so we had to agree to address it again
which is what you are doing in the next Resolution and then we will have the Mayor and Council
President execute that Agreement tonight. I might add it worked to our benefit. We are saving
.10 per unit because of the change in pricing.
Council President Saponaro asked, does anyone have any questions?
There were none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
Resolution No. 2019-66, entitled, "An emergency resolution authorizing and directing
the Mayor and President of Council to enter into a Natural Gas Sales Agreement with
NextEra Energy Services, Ohio, LLC in order to enroll in the preferred NOPEC
Municipal Pricing Program."
