Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, November 18, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />There was none. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Minutes of October 21, 2019 <br />Meeting Approved as Written <br />Council President Saponaro stated, next, I have the honor and privilege to read a Resolution to <br />someone who is very deserving. <br />• Resolution No. 2019-70, entitled, "A resolution thanking Fire Department Executive <br />Assistant Cheryl Garinger for her dedication and service to Mayfield Village and <br />congratulating her on her retirement." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar and Council as a <br />Whole <br />WHEREAS, Cheryl Garinger is retiring from the Mayfield Village Fire Department after <br />31 years of service. Her last day of work will be November 26, 2019; and <br />WHEREAS, Cheryl Garinger was hired on November 7, 1988 as a Finance Clerk in the <br />Finance Department; in 2004, she became the Fire Department's first Administrative Assistant; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, since that time, Cheryl Garinger's title was changed to Fire Department <br />Executive Assistant and she served in that capacity under Fire Chief David Mohr and now Chief <br />Eugene Carcioppolo; and <br />WHEREAS, one of Cheryl Garinger's most notable accomplishments during her tenure <br />with Mayfield Village was development of the Mass Inoculation Point of Dispensing Program <br />(MIPOD) during 2005. Cheryl recruited over 250 volunteers from Mayfield School District <br />communities to participate and oversaw several live exercises and one activation. The H 1 N 1 <br />activation took place in December 2009 and over 2,400 people were successfully vaccinated in <br />just four hours; and <br />WHEREAS, Cheryl's accomplishment did not go without notice and she was named by <br />the Sun Newspapers as Mayfield Village's Most Influential Person of 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, Cheryl has been a dedicated employee and a willing volunteer at many <br />Village events, including Cruise Night and Pancake Breakfast. An avid scrapbooker, Cheryl <br />spearheaded and organized Scrapbooking Weekends, which have become a very successful <br />annual recreational program in the Village. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Cheryl Garinger be and is hereby recognized for thirty-one <br />(31) years of dedication and tireless service to Mayfield Village <br />
