Minutes oCthe Special Meeting of Council Mondjy. Au<uust 31. 2020 Page 3 Fund balance has increased every year. In fact, it has increased substantially. As of July 31St of this year, our General Fund balance stands at $31,165.257.00, just about two and a half times more -than the -day I started. A $3-1:000;000:00 reserve is not just respectable, it --- is virtually unheard of in a Village our size or even in cities far larger than we are. In that same five years, while we built our reserves, our careful planning has enabled us to add 7 new full-time first responders, fill our summers with some amazing concerts, build a beautiful Community Room and maintain exceptional programs and services. This year, although our income will be impacted by COVID-19, we are still on track to finish the year by covering our budget expenses out of current income. So, there's no need for fear or panic, and neither will serve us well. Rather, be assured that all of us - I, members of this Administration, Council President Schutt and all of your Council Representatives continue to listen to your concerns, plan for our future and act in your best interests. We have a ways to go yet and there's no room for divisiveness. Working together has always been the strength of this community and careful planning, budgeting and spending have been the hallmarks of our success. Those characteristics have taken us through rough times before and they will continue to guide us as we navigate the unchartered waters ahead. ROLL CALL: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Ordinance Enacted • Motion to confirm that Exhibit "A" attached to Ordinance 2020-16 amends Article IV Section 4 of the Charter of Mayfield Village as opposed to Article VI Section 4 of the Charter of Mayfield Village and direct the Clerk of Council to confirm the same with the Board of Elections. Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to confirm that Exhibit "A" attached to Ordinance 2020-16 amends Article IV Section 4 of the Charter of Mayfield Village as opposed to Article VI Section 4 of the Charter of Mayfield Village and direct the Clerk of Council to confirm the same with the Board of Elections.
