RESOLUTION NO. 2020-40 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole <br />It <br />f, <br />I I <br />THANKING DONNA HEATH FOR 40 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE <br />TO MAYFIELD VILLAGE AND CONGRATULATING HER ON HER RETIREMENT <br />WHEREAS, on July 20, 1980, Donna Heath was hired by then -Mayor Robert Beebe; and <br />WHEREAS, for the next 25 years, Donna Heath.served various administrations as Assistant to Mayor Fred. <br />Carmen, Mayor Blase Pietrafese, and Mayor Bruce Rinker; and <br />WHEREAS, during those years, Donna Heath also served as the Clerk of Council, assisting the many, <br />different Council members elected to office, earning her designation as a Certified Municipal Clerk, and becoming <br />a member and President of the Western Reserve Municipal Clerks Association; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1987, former Finance Director Dan Patrick nominated Donna for recognition during a'. <br />meeting with State Auditors commending her for the high quality of work and management of the records, <br />maintained by the Clerk. He stated, "This is an example of a Village employee demonstrating on a day-to-day,l <br />week -to -week basis, a dedicated performance that continues to reflect highly on the Village and its employees to <br />other outside parties"; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village had very few full-time employees during the 1980s and Donna filled a, <br />variety of roles, planning and overseeing the Village's special events, including July 4'h Fireworks, Village Days,l <br />Cruise Night and Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast, donning the bunny suit for Easter Parties, developing the <br />Village's first website, establishing the Records Commission to organize Village records, and, when needed, <br />providing assistance to all Departments. In 1985, former Police Chief Stevens provided Donna with a Letter of <br />Commendation after she provided "invaluable assistance" to the Police Department. He stated, "It is certainly nice <br />to know that members of other municipal departments can pitch in to help out another department during times of <br />need"; and <br />CW WHEREAS, in 1996, Mayor Bruce Rinker presented Donna with an Outstanding Citizen Award, notably <br />in the Award's inaugural year; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2005, Donna's talents took her to the Human Services Department, which later became <br />known as Senior Services, where she spent the remainder of her career assisting Mayfield Village's seniors, <br />developing and overseeing recreational and educational programming, running the senior snow plow program, <br />arranging bus trips, and most recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, making regular calls to seniors at their <br />homes to check on their health and well-being; and <br />WHEREAS, Donna Heath has served the community of Mayfield Village with exceptional commitment! <br />for over 40 years and, during her tenure, she was instrumental in facilitating its growth. She watched over many) <br />Charter Review Commissions, helped develop the 2020 Vision Plan, and supported many initiatives, most notably,, <br />the SOM Center Road Widening Project, the retention and growth of Progressive Insurance, and the developments <br />of the Parkview recreational complex. <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village and its residents have clearly benefitted and prospered as a result d <br />Donna's dedication and hard work. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD, <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Donna Heath be and is hereby recognized and congratulated for 40 years of dedicated <br />and exceptional service to Mayfield Village.
