Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, July 19, 2021
Page 9
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Resolution Adopted
Resolution No. 2021-24, entitled, "An emergency resolution authorizing and directing the
Mayor and President of Council to enter into a Development Agreement with 345 Miner
Road, LLC and Mars Electric Company." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar. (Administration).
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2021-24.
Council President Schutt asked, discussion?
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
Presentation of Proclamation of Appreciation to Employees of Crooked River
CrossFit regarding cardiac incident
Council President Schutt stated, Chief Carcioppolo will be speaking first on this.
Chief Carcioppolo stated, thank you Council President. Thank you all for coming. It's important
to see you all here in support of Michael Beers. Because of COVID and because this is our first
in-person Council meeting, we felt it important to recognize everyone involved with saving his
life. Truly the greatest gift on earth is life. With all the little kids here and everything, it doesn't
always work the way that it did for you. To talk a little bit about how this was a perfect storm and
how it all came together I felt was relevant.
The mission of the Fire and EMS profession is to help sustain life and the team effort illustrated
in this event showcased the skillsets of our firefighters and paramedics, the legislative process and
the compassionate empathy of all your friendships at the gym. Our Department's public education
is visceral to our mission and it was started with our retired Assistant Chief Michael Girbino. He
started our CPR and public education programming. That was continued by Lieutenant Brothers
when he retired. The chain of survival which is all part of CPR and the First Aid training that we
provide to the public for free includes early 9-1-1 activation, early CPR, early defibrillation and
early advanced care.
