Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, February 15, 2021
Page 2
Council President Schutt asked, discussion?
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Minutes of January 19, 2021
Meeting Approved as Written
Comments from Mayor Bodnar
Thank you, Council President. I would like to wish everyone a Happy Belated Valentine's Day
and a Happy President's Day. I hope everybody had a chance to have a little bit of enjoyment on
these holidays over the past couple of days.
Also, as I look out my window, I am reminded of how much we appreciate our Service Department
for keeping our roads clean. But I have something else to talk about with them tonight and the
special work that two of our members did. On February 4th, two members of the Service
Department, Lenny Tierney and Scott Sipos, observed that a pedestrian crossing SOM Center Road
near Wilson Mills had been struck by a vehicle and was laying unconscious in the street. Scott and
Lenny immediately moved their Service vehicle over there. They protected the area so that no
cars could come upon the victim and they protected the people who had come by, the Good
Samaritans to help. I have no doubt that in doing that, they really secured her safety and they
stayed on the scene until the Police and EMS could arrive. That went a long way in helping the
victim of that accident. I issued a Commendation to both Scott and Lenny thanking them for their
service here in Mayfield Village. We expect a high level of service and professionalism and
kindness from our employees and I think on February 4th, Scott and Lenny exemplified the best
that we have to offer. I wanted to let Council know that and that I have given each of them a
Commendation for their service.
That's all I have this evening. Thank you, Council President.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you Mayor Bodnar.
Comments From Council President Schutt
Our next Regular Meeting of Council is scheduled for Monday, March 15th. Caucus is scheduled for
Monday, March 1'. Both meetings will be virtual. I also wanted to mention again about our Special
Election on March 16th. Please give it time if you plan on submitting an Absentee Ballot. You can of
course vote in person as well at the Civic Center on March I e.
