A <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-39 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF <br />SUBMITTING A JOINT PROPOSAL WITH THE CITY OF HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, <br />OHIO TO THE GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY'S <br />CONNECTWORKS MICRO TRANSIT GRANT PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) is seeking <br />proposals for its ConnectWorks Micro Transit Program to provide customers with a last/first mile <br />connection from GCRTA's system to their ultimate place of employment; and <br />WHEREAS, Progressive Insurance, Mayfield Village and the City of Highland Heights, <br />have been discussing the need for such connections for the employees of Progressive Insurance <br />working on Wilson Mills Road and SOM Center Road, as well as other employees working on <br />Beta Drive in Mayfield Village and Alpha Drive in Highland Heights; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed connection could also be utilized by residents of both <br />communities to reach other destinations along its route; and <br />WHEREAS, GCRTA's ConnectWorks Micro Transit Program offers financial assistance <br />to successful applicants and Mayfield Village wishes to partner with the City of Highland Heights <br />to submit a program proposal by the deadline of November 12, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety <br />and welfare of all Mayfield Village residents to submit a proposal to the GCRTA's ConnectWorks <br />Micro Transit Program. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village supports the preparation and joint <br />submittal of a proposal for the 2021 ConnectWorks Micro Transit Program to assist with the <br />funding of a transportation bus loop to provide last/first mile connections from GCRTA's system <br />to places of employment on Wilson Mills Road, SOM Center Road, Beta Drive and Alpha Drive. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meeting of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />r SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that Mayfield Village desires to work with Highland <br />
