Minutes of the Special Meeting of Council <br />Monday, April 4, 2022 <br />Page 2 <br />Mayor Bodnar asked, Council President, as Resolution 2022-20 has been unanimously passed by <br />Council, I would like to take this opportunity to read it into the record. <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br />LILLIAN "PATSY" MILLS <br />WHEREAS, Lillian ("Patsy") Mills has lived and worked in Mayfield Village for over 50 years, <br />raising her three sons Art, Ralph and Jimmy, while working as a real estate agent and owning <br />a flower shop; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1985, Patsy was elected as the Council Representative for Ward 2. For more <br />than 36 years, Patsy has served on Mayfield Village Council and, during her tenure, served <br />as Council President and the Chair of every Council Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, Patsy has dedicated her life to Village government and leadership, guiding the <br />Councils and Administrations under which she served, sharing her vast knowledge, and <br />encouraging everyone to use their talents in the hopes of preparing the individuals to be the <br />leaders of tomorrow; and <br />WHEREAS, throughout the years, Patsy has gone beyond the call of duty, serving as a <br />Founding Member of the Garden Club, and a long -serving member and officer of the Mayfield <br />Women's Club and Mayfield Township Historical Society, where she served as a docent <br />giving tours to those who visit the Bennett VanCuren Historical House. Patsy has had great <br />influence on countless Village special events, always volunteering to help with planning, setup <br />and working the event; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village has benefitted from Patsy's many contributions, including her <br />research at the Mayfield Union Cemetery using ground -penetrating radar to determine exactly <br />how many graves were there and her service on the Records Commission to preserve <br />records vital to documenting governmental activities. Her belief in the importance of this <br />service was exhibited by her attendance at many seminars to keep up with guidelines, rules <br />and laws of the State of Ohio, and even more volunteering at Mayfield Village's annual Shred <br />Day; and <br />WHEREAS, Patsy is known as the go -to person for historical information. She speaks with a <br />sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face, as she tells stories of the past. Many refer to <br />Patsy as a true history buff, a walking history book, or an encyclopedia; and <br />WHEREAS, Patsy's most common question is, "What can I do for you?" Recently, Patsy was <br />presented with a Mayor's Proclamation in celebration of her 90th birthday. Patsy's humble <br />response was, "Thank you very much. I didn't know I did all that. It's a good way to start the <br />next 90 years." <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />THAT: <br />
