�*� MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />`r' MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />Monday, September 19, 2022 — 7:00 p.m. <br />Mayfield Village Civic Hall -Mayfield Village Civic Center <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday, September 19, 2022, at <br />Mayfield Village Civic Hall at the Mayfield Village Civic Center. Council President Schutt called <br />the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />Council President Schutt asked, Mrs. Betsa, may I have a Roll Call, please? <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Arndt, Mrs. Jurcisek, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Meyers, <br />Mr. Schutt and Mr. Williams <br />Also Present: Mayor Bodnar, Ms. Calta, Mr. Wynne, <br />Chief Carcioppolo, Chief Matias, Mr. Marquart, <br />Mr. McAvinew, Mr. Russell, Mr. Sipos, <br />Ms. Wolgamuth and Mrs. Betsa <br />Absent: Mr. Murphy and Mr. Cappello <br />Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mrs. Betsa. Please let the record show that Councilman <br />Murphy and Mr. Cappello are both excused from this evening's meeting. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Presentation of Commendation to Officer Stipe Bajan <br />Council President asked, Mayor Bodnar? <br />Mayor Bodnar stated, thank you, Council President. Tonight I have the honor of recognizing Patrol <br />Officer Stipe Bajan for his exemplary service in the line of duty. Officer Bajan I have issued a <br />Commendation to you and if you will stand I will read it into the record: <br />Dear Officer Bajan: <br />On August 30, 2022, a small airplane crash landed behind Mayfield Middle School in Mayfield <br />Heights. Not knowing the severity of the crash, Officers Andy Duffy and Stipe Bajan both <br />responded to assist Mayfield Heights Police. As one of the first on -scene officers, Officer Bajan <br />observed that one of the passengers of the airplane had a severe laceration on his arm. Without <br />delay, Officer Bajan began delivering medical care to the man by applying a tourniquet to his <br />injured arm and assisting with treatment until the man could be transported to the hospital. It <br />turned out the man was the pilot. I have no doubt that your skill and quick action saved the pilot's <br />arm and quite possibly his life. Your immediate observation of the situation, recognition of its <br />
