Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, September 19, 2022 <br />Page 3 <br />recognizing the fact that we have a very strong partnership with all of our communities in the State <br />of Ohio. <br />Again, thank you to the Council. Thank you for having me out this evening. I would like to open <br />it up to Council if they have any questions with regards to income-tax related items. If not, I do <br />thank you for your evening. <br />There were no questions. <br />Mr. Thunberg stated, again, we are trying to collect that money for you. We are keeping an eye <br />on things throughout the State of Ohio down in Columbus and also in Washington, D.C. as well. <br />We have our ears to the ground. We are making sure that all RITA communities are in the loop of <br />everything and we make sure that the appropriate people within the administration are up to breast <br />of everything that's going on as far as income tax is concerned. Again, thank you very much for <br />your time this evening. It was a pleasure being out here and recognizing Mayfield Village. <br />Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Thunberg. Next, we would like to welcome Dr. <br />Michael Barnes, Superintendent of the Mayfield School District who's here this evening. We also <br />want to acknowledge the School Board members Al Hess, Ron Fornaro and also Treasurer Scott <br />Snyder. Dr. Barnes is here to present the State of the Schools. <br />State of the Schools Presentation — Dr. Michael J. Barnes, Superintendent of Mayfield <br />City School District. <br />Dr. Barnes stated, thank you Council President Schutt, Mayor Bodnar, Council members and staff. <br />We are excited to be here to share some brief comments tonight on the State of the Schools. We <br />will share some highlights from last year. We will talk about our strategic priorities in 2022, 2023 <br />and beyond. Mr. Snyder then will have some commentary on some capital improvements, <br />operations. We will then open it up for questions if you have any at the end. We promise to be <br />efficient. We know that Council has a lot of work ahead of them. We are very very thankful for <br />this opportunity to come and spend some time with you all. <br />The following is a summary of the presentation: <br />2021 District Highlights <br />The state report card came out. We are 4 out of 5 stars (exceeding State standards). We <br />look forward to additional work moving forward. <br />We received 5 out of 5 stars at the District component. <br />Ranked an "A" for outstanding delivery of educational programming <br />17/608 — Best place to teach <br />19/608 — Best teachers in Ohio <br />33/608 — Best School Districts in Ohio — top 5% <br />High School Recognitions <br />
