RESOLUTION NO. 2022-48 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO ENTER INTO THE AMENDMENT <br />AGREEMENT WITH CHAGRIN RIVER WATERSHED PARTNERS, INC. FOR THE <br />GREAT LAKES RESTORATION INITIATIVE: PLANTING TREES <br />TO REDUCE RUNOFF PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc. ("CRWP") was awarded the USDA, <br />Forest Service Northeastern Area, State and Private Forestry Great Lakes Restoration Initiative <br />Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village previously supported the application for the grant and <br />committed to working with CRWP to coordinate plantings and contributing $14,722, which is 20% <br />of the total budget, for the reforestation of 3.25 acres of riparian habitat on Village owned property <br />near Bonnieview Road and Beech Hill Road; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village previously entered into the Contract Agreement with <br />CWRP for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative: Planting Trees to Reduce Runoff Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project Period under the Agreement has been extended until May 30, <br />2025; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Council deems it necessary and in the best interest to the health, <br />safety and welfare of all Village residents to enter into the Amendment Agreement with CWRP <br />for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative: Planting Trees to Reduce Runoff Project to reflect this <br />extension of time for the completion of the Project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of the Village of Mayfield authorizes and directs the Mayor <br />and President of Council to enter into the Amendment Agreement with CWRP for the Great Lakes <br />Restoration Initiative: Planting Trees to Reduce Runoff Project, a copy of which is attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal actions, took place <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
