RESOLUTION NO. 2023-09 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH OHIO GEESE CONTROL, LLC FOR GEESE CONTROL ON VILLAGE PROPERTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,370.05 FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2023 WHEREAS, based upon recommendation, it has been deemed in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of all Village residents and inhabitants to engage a professional company to provide geese control services on Village property; and WHEREAS, Ohio Geese Control, LLC currently manages and supports the Village by implementing a longer-term geese control solution on Village property; and WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends that the Mayor and President of Council enter into contract with Ohio Geese Control, LLC for the 2023 season as part of a longer-term geese control solution on the Parkview soccer fields, pond area, amphitheater, softball fields, bocce courts, 3 tennis courts and parking lot area. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village hereby accepts and approves the proposal of Ohio Geese Control, LLC in the amount of $12,370.05 for calendar year 2023 to perform geese control services. SECTION 2. The Council of Mayfield Village does hereby direct the Mayor and President of Council to enter into contract with Ohio Geese Control, LLC, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A." SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that it provides for necessary services to provide geese control services in the interest of the protection of the residents of Mayfield Village and users of the Village facilities.
