J RESOLUTION NO. 2023-28 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION REPEALING AND REPLACING RESOLUTION 2023-18 AND AUTHORIZING MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO EXPEND FUNDS TO MOTOROLA FOR THE PURCHASE, PROGRAMMING, AND INSTALLATION OF NEW RADIOS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,082.54 FOR THE MAYFIELD VILLAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, Resolution 2023-18 was passed by Village Council on February 20, 2023 authorizing payment to B&C Communications in the amount of $60,082.54. Subsequently, it was determined that payment should have been authorized to Motorola rather than B&C as Motorola is the appropriate vendor; WHEREAS, based upon recommendation, it has been deemed in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of all Village residents and inhabitants to acquire new radio equipment for the Mayfield Village Police Department to replace equipment that in the near future will no longer be upgradeable; and WHEREAS, it is imperative for the members of the Mayfield Village Police Department to have consistent communication devices to use as it is one of the most important life safety devices when functioning on an emergency scene; and WHEREAS, the Police Chief, has recommended that 7 mobile radios and 7 portable radios, along with necessary related equipment, be purchased from Motorola at the Ohio State Term Contract Price; and WHEREAS, the Police Chief also recommends that Motorola through B&C Communications provide the programming and installation of the new radios and related equipment; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield, upon the recommendation of the Police Chief, wishes to purchase 7 mobile radios and 7 portable radios from Motorola with B&C Communications providing the programing and installation of the same.
