RESOLUTION 2023-53 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO APPROVE A CHANGE ORDER <br />IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEED TO $35,000.00 TO COMPLETE <br />ADDITIONAL CHANNEL WORK FOR PHASE 1 OF THE <br />WORTON PARK CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, it has been deemed in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of all <br />Village residents and inhabitants to replace and increase the size of the culverts on Worton Park <br />Drive and N. Woodlane Drive and perform additional channel and flood plain enhancements to <br />reduce flooding in the Worton Park neighborhood; and <br />WHEREAS, bids for the aforementioned improvements were received, opened and <br />tabulated as per published notice on May 13, 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Great Lakes Crushing, Ltd. in the amount of $873,113.00 was the <br />lowest and best bid received; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Engineer, who prepared the design and bid specifications for this <br />project, reviewed the bids and recommended that Council approve and accept the aforementioned <br />bid; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village entered into contract with Great Lakes Crushing Ltd. for culvert <br />replacement on Worton Park Drive and N. Woodland Drive in accordance with the specifications <br />contained in the bid documents; and <br />WHEREAS, at this time additional channel work is being proposed to improve the <br />functionality of the flood plain installed at 6213 N. Woodlane; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has reviewed the proposed change order, and <br />recommends that the Village approve the change order in an amount not exceed $35,000.00 in <br />order to complete additional channel work. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, <br />County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village, based upon the recommendation of the <br />Village's Engineer, hereby approves a change order to its contract with Great Lakes Crushing Ltd. <br />for Phase 1 of the Worton Park Culvert Replacement Project, to perform additional channel work <br />to improve the functionality of the flood plain, in an amount not to exceed $35,000.00. <br />
