ORDINANCE NO. 2023-11 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />ASSESSING THE COSTS FOR THE BOARDING OF AN UNCLAIMED ANIMAL <br />WHEREAS, as a result of a violation of Chapter 505 of the Village's Codified <br />Ordinances, the Village incurred expenses in the amount of two thousand seven hundred thirty- <br />two dollars and forty cents ($2732.40) for the boarding of an unclaimed animal; and <br />WHEREAS, after due demand for payment was made, the amount remains outstanding; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with MVCO Section 505.99, if such an amount incurred by <br />the Village remains outstanding, the Finance Director may certify the amount to the County <br />Auditor to be assessed as a lien against the owner's real property with general taxes and <br />assessments. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Cuyahoga County, State of Ohio, that: <br />SECTION 1. The amount above shown (and paid by the Village) is hereby assessed upon <br />the owner of the real property located at 936 SOM Center Road, Unit A-1, Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio 44143 (Permanent Parcel No. 831-37-301) and said assessment shall be for a period of five <br />(5) consecutive years beginning with the 2023 tax duplicate in the same manner as general taxes. <br />SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to submit a certified copy of this <br />Ordinance to the Cuyahoga County Auditor so that the amount charged shall be collected as other <br />taxes in the manner provided by law. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took <br />place in meeting open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
