ORDINANCE NO. 2023-11 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE COSTS FOR THE BOARDING OF AN UNCLAIMED ANIMAL WHEREAS, as a result of a violation of Chapter 505 of the Village's Codified Ordinances, the Village incurred expenses in the amount of two thousand seven hundred thirty- two dollars and forty cents ($2732.40) for the boarding of an unclaimed animal; and WHEREAS, after due demand for payment was made, the amount remains outstanding; and WHEREAS, in accordance with MVCO Section 505.99, if such an amount incurred by the Village remains outstanding, the Finance Director may certify the amount to the County Auditor to be assessed as a lien against the owner's real property with general taxes and assessments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of Mayfield Village, Cuyahoga County, State of Ohio, that: SECTION 1. The amount above shown (and paid by the Village) is hereby assessed upon the owner of the real property located at 936 SOM Center Road, Unit A-1, Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143 (Permanent Parcel No. 831-37-301) and said assessment shall be for a period of five (5) consecutive years beginning with the 2023 tax duplicate in the same manner as general taxes. SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to submit a certified copy of this Ordinance to the Cuyahoga County Auditor so that the amount charged shall be collected as other taxes in the manner provided by law. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meeting open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
