RESOLUTION NO. 2023-56 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) 2024 POLICE VEHICLES FROM <br />GREVE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN AN AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED $225,000 THROUGH THE STATE OF OHIO'S <br />DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (DAS) <br />COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield has a continuing duty to the public to provide efficient <br />and effective services to its residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has advised that the Police Department is in need of <br />replacing patrol units which are approaching the end of their usable life and are ready to be cycled <br />out of service; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police wishes to utilize the State of Ohio's Department of <br />Administrative Services (DAS) Cooperative Purchasing Program, which does not require <br />competitive bidding pursuant to State law to purchase the three (3) vehicles to replace the old <br />vehicles which will be sold once the transfer is complete; and <br />WHEREAS, the three (3) new vehicles were planned for and are included in the 2023 <br />budget; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended the purchase of three (3) 2024 Dodge <br />Durangos from Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge in an amount not to exceed $225,000 which includes <br />additional equipment upgrades and the cost of the changeover. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village hereby approves and authorizes an <br />expenditure in an amount not to exceed $225,000 to Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge for the purchase <br />of three (3) 2024 Dodge Durangos, including additional equipment upgrades and the cost of the <br />changeover to police vehicles, through the State of Ohio's DAS Cooperative Purchasing Program. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />
