Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council Monday, September 18, 2023 Page 12 First Reading of Resolution 2023-57, entitled, "An emergency resolution authorizing Mayfield Village to accept the bid of Zenith Systems, LLC in the amount of $148,281.00 and enter into a contract for food truck parking lighting improvement at the Grove Amphitheatre." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar. (Administration) Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mrs. Jurcisek, made a motion to suspend Resolution No. 2023-57. ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carries NAYS: None Resolution Suspended Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mrs. Jurcisek, made a motion to enact Resolution No. 2023-57. Council President Schutt asked, any discussion? Mr. Meyers asked, only one bid came in, right? Mr. Cappello replied, correct. Mr. Meyers asked, do we have to have more than one bid? Mr. Cappello replied, there were 6 people who took out plans on the bidder's list. We only had one who submitted. Mr. Meyers asked, so can we put it out for rebid? Mr. Cappello stated, I can't see 6 people taking out plans again. Mr. Meyers stated, it doesn't seem like you should give it to the one guy. We have all winter. It's not like it has to be done tomorrow. What's the hurry? The season is over. Mayor Bodnar asked, do you think they are going to be interested? We had 6 people come to a prebid meeting, right? Those were the people we thought were interested but only one of them submitted. Who else is going to all of a sudden get interested in this if they weren't the first time? Mr. Meyers stated, there's got to be somebody who will rebid it. Mrs. Jurcisek asked, Tom, did you get any feedback as to why they didn't submit? Mr. Cappello replied, the one person who did submit the bid questioned that some of the items were long lead time. They provided alternates. Mayor Bodnar asked, within the bid specs, it was within the range, right?
