Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council Monday, September 18, 2023 Page 3 Open Portion — For Public Comment (5-minute limit imposed by Chair) Rick Christian 510 SOM Center Road I just talked with the group over here. There's a group that meets at the Grove on Sunday afternoons and beats drums like they are going out of style. It's ridiculous. The next time they meet there, I am calling the police. They said there has to be a noise ordinance. Maybe there should be a noise ordinance. I have dealt with the Grove concerts Fridays and Saturdays. Now on Sunday afternoon this group meets to beat drums. They have two big bass drums, a bunch of snares and they are just beating on them. It's obnoxious. Maybe we can do a noise ordinance for the Grove? I don't know. But I will call the police. Thank you. Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Christian. Any other comments for this evening? There were none. Department Head Reports: Diane Wolgamuth (Administration) — Thank you, Council President. Reporting for Citizen's Advisory, after the summer break they will be meeting again next Tuesday, September 261h at 7:00 p.m. in this room. The main agenda item will be talking about the Kindland initiative and seeing if the group has any interest in coming up with projects or working with Kindland on behalf of Mayfield Village. That's all I have. Thank you. Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Ms. Wolgamuth. Daniel Russell (Building Department) — Thank you, Council President. I only have one item to report on. It was the August 28th ARB meeting. We had two applications. Both applications were approved. That's all I have. Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Russell. Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) — Thank you Council President. I have a few items to report on. The deadline to opt in for the senior snow plow program is October Pt. If you know any residents 65 or over that need this service, make sure they have their application in by October I". After October I" there is a late fee of $50.00 that gets tacked on to the application. We are trying to get the information out. Right now we have 175 residents signed up for the program. We will probably get between 275-300. If you know any residents in your neighborhood or your Ward, please let them know and remind them to submit their application. Also, the Commission on Aging met last Thursday. We had a nice review of summer activities. They are very happy with Samantha, the new coordinator, with all of the activities she has scheduled. They were very complimentative and gave thanks to those who helped out with the annual picnic for the residents. They were thankful and happy that went off very very well.
