RECOGNIZING THE RETIREMENT OF OFFICER KATHRYN TROYER <br />AFTER 26 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE <br />IN THE MAYFIELD VILLAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, in April of 1998, Kathryn Troyer was hired as an Auxiliary Police Officer and Part -Time <br />Dispatcher with the Mayfield Village Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, in July of 1999, Officer Troyer was hired as a full-time Police Officer and in June 2011, <br />she was promoted to Sergeant, serving as a Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Officer, and the K-9 <br />Unit Supervisor; and <br />WHEREAS, During Sergeant Troyer's 26-year career she has received multiple commendations <br />and letters of appreciation for her professionalism, compassion and leadership, including <br />numerous letters from the community complimenting her actions; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Troyer improved our Police Department by creating traffic templates to <br />diagram accidents and organizing Officer wellness initiatives; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Troyer was in charge of the Active Threat Community Education program, <br />which provides vital training to businesses and schools in Mayfield Village; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Troyer led the way by organizing the Mayfield Village "Pink Patch Project", <br />the annual event to fight breast cancer. Sergeant Troyer designed our patch and collected <br />donations that supported The Gathering Place Cancer Support Center; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Troyer is deserving of our praise, gratitude and earned retirement as an <br />Officer of the Mayfield Village Police Department effective June 4th 2024. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />The Village accepts the well -deserved retirement of Sergeant Kathryn Troyer <br />effective June 4, 2024. We thank her for her dedicated service and wish her many <br />years of health and happiness in retirement. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTED: May 20, 2024 <br />BRENDA T.
