CONGRATULATING MAYFIELD VILLAGE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE RONALD C. WYNNE
ON HIS RETIREMENT AND THANKING HIM FOR 15 YEARS
OF EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE TO MAYFIELD VILLAGE
WHEREAS, in 2009, Ronald C. Wynne was hired by Mayor Bruce G. Rinker as Mayfield Village's
Director of Finance; and
WHEREAS, before bringing his talent and expertise to Mayfield Village, Ron had worked for over
30 years in the private sector as the Vice President and CFO of Arthur Middleton Capital Holdings and as
the Senior Vice President and Managing Director at Bowne & Co.; and
WHEREAS, the significance of Ron's role as Director of Finance is impossible to define. Ron
surpassed traditional expectations, becoming involved in all facets of Village government. His knowledge,
experience, demeanor, and wise perspective made his opinions sought after and respected. His ability to
refine financial concepts, making them easily understandable, and his willingness to patiently explain
them, was appreciated by us all; and
WHEREAS, Ron's background made the usual aspects of budgeting and running the Village's
finances seem like a walk in the park. With his guidance, the Village passed a much -needed income tax
increase in 2010 and, under his watchful eye, the Village's annual revenues more than doubled over the
next decade. Debt was reduced from $16 million to $2 million and reserves increased from $2 million to
$42 million; and
WHEREAS, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020 and revenues plummeted, Ron made sure that
all the work that had gone into making the Village financially secure was not squandered. Because of his
continued diligence and leadership, the Village remains financially secure through sound investments and
watchful spending; and
WHEREAS, Ronald C. Wynne has served the community of Mayfield Village with exceptional
passion and dedication for 15 years and, although we are all sorry to see him leave, he deserves an
opportunity to enjoy life with his family, kick back, play a round of golf, and raise a glass or two.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO,
ON THIS OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, THAT:
Director of Finance Ronald C. Wynne is hereby recognized and congratulated for 15
years of exceptional service to Mayfield Village. On behalf of residents, business
owners, department heads and staff, we wish him many years of health and
happiness with his wonderful wife Debbie, daughter Kelly, son Sean and the newest
love of his life, granddaughter Amelia.
RESOLUTION ADOPTED: May 20, 2024 --
0
BRENDA T. BODNAR, Mayor
APPROVED AS TO FORM:
DIANE A. CALTA, ESQ., Director of Law
