RESOLUTION NO. 2024-34 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO EXPEND FUNDS <br />IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $180,000.00 TO WICHERT INSURANCE <br />FOR THE VILLAGE'S 2024 PROPERTY & LIABILITY INSURANCE RENEWAL <br />WHEREAS, based upon recommendation, it has been deemed in the best interest of the <br />health, safety and welfare of all Village residents and inhabitants to renew the Village's property <br />and liability insurance coverage for 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield has such insurance coverage provided by Wichert <br />Insurance; and <br />WHEREAS, the current insurance policy will expire on June 30, 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Finance for the Village of Mayfield has reviewed the insurance <br />renewal policy and recommended that the Village Council approve and accept the property and <br />liability insurance renewal policy from Wichert Insurance. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village hereby approves and authorizes an <br />expenditure not to exceed $180,000.00 to Wichert Insurance for the property and liability <br />insurance renewal policy for the period of July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. <br />SECTION 2. The Council of Mayfield Village does hereby direct the Mayor and <br />President of Council to enter into contract with Wichert Insurance for the insurance coverage <br />renewal policy for the period of July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that it provides for necessary insurance coverage for the <br />
