COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS AGREEMENT <br />Community Partnership on Aging <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 1,t day of January, 2025, by and between the City <br />of Highland Heights, the City of Lyndhurst, the Village of Mayfield, the City of Mayfield Heights, <br />the City of Richmond Heights, and the City of South Euclid, each being municipal corporations <br />organized and existing under and by the virtue of the laws of the State of Ohio (hereinafter <br />referred to individually as a "member community" or collectively as "member communities"); <br />acting pursuant to enabling Ordinances duly enacted. <br />WITNESSETH <br />WHEREAS, in 1978 the cities of South Euclid, Lyndhurst and Highland Heights entered in an <br />Agreement creating the Tri-City Consortium on Aging; and <br />WHEREAS, said Agreement was amended by the parties in 1991; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mayfield Heights was added as a member in 2012; <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield was added as a member in 2013; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Heights was added as a member in 2020; <br />WHEREAS, the purpose thereof being to continue to coordinate among the member communities <br />all matters relating to assistance for the aged residents of each of the member communities hereto; <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code authorizes the governing bodies of any two <br />or more counties, municipal corporations, townships, special districts, school districts or other <br />political subdivisions to enter into an agreement with each other, or with the governing bodies of <br />any counties, municipal corporations, townships, special districts, school districts, or other <br />political .subdivisions of any other state to the extent that laws of such other state permit, for <br />establishment of a regional council consisting of such political subdivisions; <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 167 of the ORC, the voting member communities desire to enter <br />into this Agreement to form the "Community Partnership on Aging", organized as a regional <br />council of governments under Chapter 167 of the ORC. The programs and assistance established <br />through this coordinated joint venture will be known hereafter as the "Community Partnership <br />on Aging"; <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the Community Partnership on Aging shall be to provide assistance <br />for and to the aged residents of each of the member communities; and <br />WHEREAS, this Community Partnership on Aging is and shall be an entity separate and distinct <br />from each of the member communities, while remaining closely affiliated with the local <br />governments of such member communities <br />Community Partnership on Aging: 2024 COG Agreement Page 1 of 9 <br />4855-9157-6574, v. 1 <br />
