Z Q�S <br />LID1A��uo[n <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole <br />NO. 2024-64 <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO RETIRED <br />ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF/FIRE MARSHAL <br />MICHAEL LIBENS <br />WHEREAS, in April of2019, Michael Libens was hired as the Mayfield Village Assistant Fire <br />Chief/Fire Marshal with the added objective of continuing the mission of the Fire Prevention Bureau; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, for 28 years, before coming to the Village, Assistant Chief Libens previously <br />served as a Lieutenant in the Richmond Heights Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, during his years at the Richmond Heights Fire Department, Assistant Chief Libens <br />earned his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Kent State University; and <br />WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Libens was a founding member of the Hillcrest Technical Rescue <br />Team, from its inception in 1994, and he continued to serve on the Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team <br />until 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Libens also served as a member of the Hillcrest Regional Fire <br />Investigation Unit for 23 years; and <br />WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Libens retired from Mayfield Village on July 19. 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure in Mayfield Village, Assistant Chief Libens used his years of <br />experience, his education. and his example, to help guide all members of the Mayfield Village Fire <br />Department to becoming dedicated public servants that will continue to serve Mayfield Village and <br />surrounding communities: and <br />WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Libens has served the community of Mayfield Village with <br />exceptional commitment and dedication and its residents and businesses have clearly benefitted from his <br />knowledge and expertise. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Assistant Fire Chief Michael Libens be and is hereby recognized for five years <br />of dedicated and exceptional service to Mayfield Village and, as a token of <br />appreciation, is awarded his Mayfield Village fire helmet. On behalf of <br />residents, local businesses, department heads and staff, we congratulate him on <br />his retirement and wish him many years of health and happiness with his <br />children Riley and Mikaela, and wife Winnie. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTED: October 21. 2024 <br />Approved as to form: <br />STEPHEN SCHUTT, Council President <br />DIANE A.
