Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, November 18, 2024 <br />Page 2 <br />Comments From Mayor Bodnar <br />Thank you Council President. Just a couple of things tonight. I just wanted to wish everybody a <br />very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a good time next week with friends and family. <br />This year I am grateful for a couple of things. One of the things I am grateful for is our finances <br />are looking a little bit better this year. So far we are up $2,000,000 over the last year at this same <br />time. I am also grateful that I have the privilege of working with a wonderful Administration and <br />a strong and dedicated and great Council. I am grateful for the CAVS wins. Thank you. <br />Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mayor Bodnar. <br />Comments From Council President Schutt <br />Just a reminder that our next Council Caucus meeting is on Monday, December 2"d. Our next <br />Regular Meeting of Council is on Monday, December 16th. I would also like to wish everybody a <br />Happy Thanksgiving. Hopefully you can enjoy time with your family and friends. <br />Also, with regard to the Ward 4 Council vacancy, letters went out on November 5th. Two interested <br />candidates have sent their information to Mrs. Betsa. The deadline is Monday, December 2"d at <br />12:00 p.m. During Caucus, calendars will be coordinated scheduling interviews with the intention <br />of Council filling the vacancy by Monday, December 16`h. Any questions? <br />There were none. <br />Open Portion — For Public Comment (5-minute limit imposed by Chair) <br />Council President Schutt stated, if anyone wishes to speak, please come up to the podium and state <br />your name and address for the record. <br />Eugene March <br />545 Zorn Lane <br />I have lived in the Village for 41 years. This is my second Council meeting. I am here to make a <br />request for the Village to do some trail maintenance on Village property that extends into North <br />Chagrin Metroparks. There's a trial there that's just to the right of the Hickory Hill pumping <br />station that is Village property. For the last 4 years in a row, I have asked the Metroparks to put <br />some gravel on that trail. I can't tell you how many times I have had to clean the mud off my <br />shoes after a rainy day. This year the park did it. They put a beautiful gravel trail from the all- <br />purpose trail up to the back of the Hickory pumping station. There is another 50-60 feet of <br />sometimes muddy, but when it's dry it's a beautiful trail to walk on. A lot of people that live on <br />Bramblewood, Deepwood, Creekwood, Wildwood; all the wood streets, Zorn, Metro Park and <br />Hickory Hill use that trail, kids and old-timers like me who retired. I would appreciate it if you <br />could put some gravel. The summer, I phoned the Service Department and they said, "we are not <br />sure we can do that. You are going to have to call the Building Department." I called the Building <br />
