ORDINANCE N0. 84- 34 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION <br />505.15 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF MAYF IELD V ILLAGE, OH I0, <br />PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF <br />THE POSITION OF ANIrIAL WARDEN AND <br />\DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 505.15 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby enacted to read as follows: <br />505.15 Animal Warden; Powers and Duties. <br />(a) The position of Animal Warden is hereby established. <br />The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to appoint an <br />Animal Warden, subject to approval by a majority of the <br />members elected to Council. The compensation of the Animal <br />Warden shall be established by the Council from time-to-time. <br />(b) It shall be the duty of the Animal Warden to <br />enforce the provisions of this Chapter and the laws of the <br />State of Ohio relative to the licensing, impounding, boarding, <br />and disposition of animals within the municipality. The <br />Animal Warden shall have complete police power to enforce <br />the provisions of this Chapter and the laws of the State of <br />Ohio and to make arrests for any violations thereof. <br />Section 2. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compli- <br />ance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />for the reason that the position established herein is necessary to <br />provide effective animal control within the municipality. It shall <br />therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote <br />of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by <br />
