<br />ORDINP,NCE N0. 82-84 (As Amended) <br />INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />123.02 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF ri7AYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Ordinance 123.02 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfiela Village, Ohio, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />123.02 CONTRACTS: ADVERTISING FOR BIDS; AWARD. <br />The advertising for bids involving the expenditure <br />of more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) shall be <br />made by Motion of Council directing the Finance Director <br />to advertise for not less than once during each of two <br />(2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation <br />in the municipality. The award of a contract accepting <br />such bid shall be by Resolution of Council and shall direct <br />the Mayor and Finance Director to enter into an appropriate <br />contract. <br />No purchase of goods and services in an amount equal <br />to or greater than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br />($2,500.00) shall be made without first: obtaining at <br />least two written quotations from reputable suppliers, <br />submitted to Council. Authority to make such purchase <br />shall be by motion approved by a majority of the <br />members elected to Council. <br />For the purchase of goods or services in amounts <br />less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00), <br />the Mayor shall have authority to make the purchase <br />without prior authorization from Council so long as the <br />availability of appropriated funds for such purchase is <br />certified by the Finance Directora In addition, the Niayor <br />shall have the further authority to purchase, without <br />prior authorization from Council, goods or services in <br />amounts less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br />($2,500.00) even though such amount is unappropriated. <br />Section 2. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements, including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
