ORDINANCE NO. 81-54 <br />~ INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole• <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING MORTON SALT CO. AND <br />INTERNATIONAL SALT CO. AS THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BIDDERS FOR THE SALE OF ROAD SALT TO THE <br />MUNICIPALITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. In accordance with bids received pursuant to <br />advertisement as required by law, Morton Salt Co. and International <br />Salt Co. are declared to be the lowest and best bidders for the <br />sale of road salt to Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the 1981-1982 <br />Winter season. <br />Section 2. The Mayor and Finance Director are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with both the <br />aforesaid purveyors for the sale of road salt to the municipality <br />in amounts not to exceed the bid price received from each purveyor. <br />Such contract shall be in a form approved by the Director of Law. <br />Section 3. Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements, including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code: <br />Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the health, <br />safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, in that <br />the item purchased herein is necessary to maintain road safety within: <br />the municipality. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon <br />passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members <br />elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />earliest time allowed by law. <br />Lawrence J.
