ORDINANCE NO. 80-4 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL AID FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT WITH CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES HEREINAFTER ENUMERATED. WHEREAS, Section 717.02 and 717.021 of the Revised Code of Ohio authorize any municipal corporation, in order to obtain additional fire protection, to enter into contracts for the Services of the Fire Department or the use of Fire Department equipment within the territories of the contracting municipalities; and WHEREAS, it is the. desire of this Council to enter into a contract for the mutual interchange of Fire Department personnel and equipment of the municipalities hereinafter enumerated or as many as desire to enter into such contracts, to wit: Highland Heights Richmond Heights Mayfield Heights Willoughby Lyndhurst Eastlake :.: Gates Mills: now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to sign a mutual aid fire protection contract, in a form substantially similar to the one attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" with the municipalities of Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, Willoughby, Eastlake and Gates Mills. Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety of the residents of Mayfield Village in that the interchange of fire protection personnel and equipment with other political subdivisions is essential in providing adequate fire protection. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the ORDINANCE NO. 80- 4
