ORDINANCE NO. 80-4 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER <br />INTO A MUTUAL AID FIRE PROTECTION <br />AGREEMENT WITH CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES <br />HEREINAFTER ENUMERATED. <br />WHEREAS, Section 717.02 and 717.021 of the Revised Code of <br />Ohio authorize any municipal corporation, in order to obtain additional <br />fire protection, to enter into contracts for the Services of the <br />Fire Department or the use of Fire Department equipment within the <br />territories of the contracting municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the. desire of this Council to enter into a <br />contract for the mutual interchange of Fire Department personnel and <br />equipment of the municipalities hereinafter enumerated or as many as <br />desire to enter into such contracts, to wit: <br />Highland Heights Richmond Heights <br />Mayfield Heights Willoughby <br />Lyndhurst Eastlake <br />:.: Gates Mills: <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby <br />authorized and directed to sign a mutual aid fire protection contract, <br />in a form substantially similar to the one attached hereto and marked <br />Exhibit "A" with the municipalities of Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, <br />Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, Willoughby, Eastlake and Gates Mills. <br />Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public peace, health, and safety of the residents of Mayfield Village <br />in that the interchange of fire protection personnel and equipment <br />with other political subdivisions is essential in providing adequate <br />fire protection. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon <br />passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members <br />elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />ORDINANCE NO. 80- 4 <br />
