• <br />ORDINANCE Id0® 296 <br />By ~. _ Mr. Zingle~nan <br />AId ORDITtAtTCE CREATING THE OFF2CE OF <br />lQARSIi~1LL AIdD CHIEF OF POLICE Aldll <br />ABOLISHITdG THE OI+'FICE OF DEPU1^Y N:ARSHALL. <br />BE IT ORDAITJED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TaIA' ~~TELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF OHIO, THAT: . <br />Sec. 1. The Cottneil deems it necessary to create, and <br />there is hereby created, the office of Marshall, who shall be an <br />elector oz" the Village and shall be appointed by the Mayor, by and <br />with the advice s.nd consent of the Council, and shall be designated <br />as Chief of Police. <br />-_ Sec. 2: such appointment shall be made according to the <br />laws of she State of Ohio for a probationary period of six months' <br />~ ~ continuous ser~ce. At the end of such probationary period, the Il2ayor <br />sha11 transmit to Council the record of service of such appointee, <br />----" with his recommendations thereon, and such appointment shall then <br />become -final if approved by the T~'jayor and Council. Thereafter the <br />term of the person so appointed shall be according to the la~rrs of <br />the state of Ohio. <br />sec. 3. Such Chief of Police shall. be employed on a <br />full time basis as the peace officer of the Village and the executive <br />head under the Nayor of the Police Departmerxt. <br />Sec. 4. Such Chief of Police shall be paid a salary <br />of .;0.00 p®r ~~~~ ° dur ing his probationary period, and ~'.~50.00 <br />per -month thereafter, but such compensation may be changed from ti~.e <br />to time by the Council. Any fees received by the Claief of Police in . <br />his official capacity shall be turned into 'the Village Treasury. He <br />shall give bond in the sum of X500.00, with. good and sufficient surety <br />to be approved by the Il'Iayor. . <br />Sec. 5. Existing Ordinances Nos. 49 and 150", and az~y <br />other ordinances pertaining to the office of Deputy Marshall, are <br />hereby repealed from and az"ter this date, <br />Sec. 6. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />--~ emergency m®asure necessary for the immediate preserva'bion of the <br />~~, ~~ 1 _ <br />,_- <br />
