ORDINANCE No, 381 <br />By Mr. Hall <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR ELECTRIC <br />STREET LIGHTING SERVICE IN THE VILLAGE TO THE CLEVELAND <br />ELECTRIC ILLUMINATING COMi'ANY <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 186 of the Council of <br />the Village passed July 16th, 1951, authorizing and directing the Clerk <br />to advertise for bids for furnishing el®ctric street lighting s®rzrlce <br />in the Village, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company submitted <br />a proposal dated August 10th, 1951; and <br />WHEREAS, said proposal is in proper form and is the lowest <br />and best bid. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br />Sea. 1. That said proposal of Tho Cleveland Electric <br />Illegninating Company, for furnishing electric street lighti ng service. in <br />the Village be, and the same is, hereby accepted, and that the Mayor and th® <br />Clerk of the Village be, seed they are, hereby authorized and directed to <br />execute a contract in the name of the Village with The C1®veland Electric <br />Illuminating Company for a period of five (5) years fran and after 12:00 <br />o'olock noon of August 28th, 1951, sub3ect to cancellation by the Contractor <br />effective at any time after July 1st, 1952, upon 6 months' written notice <br />prior to such effective cancellation date, at the prices axed charges and in <br />accordance with the terms avid conditions specified in said proposal, for <br />th® following initial installations: <br />Lamp size <br />rated in Nwnber of Spacing Classification <br />Candle ~rnver Lamps Normal- Long-:- <br />And~or Lumens Initially spaced spaced Isolated <br />400 C ,P. 9 6 X 3 <br />600 C.P. That this ordinance is her®by declared to be an emergency <br />measure in that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of th® public <br />peace, health and safety of the Village, and, provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of al 1 of the members elected to Counoil, it <br />shall tak® effect and be in force from and after its passage; otheruvise, it <br />shall take ®ffect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed <br />by law. <br />Passed August 20, 1951. <br />Attest: <br />r Mayor resident of Council <br />
