ORDINANCE N0. ~ ~~ <br />B y Mr ® ~ L ` /~` r/ <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDIDTG FQR THE EMPLOY~IIENT OF IEGAL <br />COUNSEL FOR THE .VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it for the best interest of tho Village <br />to provide. legal counsel for the same and for the officers thereof. <br />NOVV, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF <br />HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COU~]TY, STATE OF. OHIO,: _ _ . - <br />See. le That Arnold ~i. Edelman, attorney at law, be, and he is <br />hereby employed to, act as legal oounsel for said Village and the officers <br />thereof in their official capacity, and as such to prosecute or defend all <br />actions, by or againtst said Village, .or any department or officer thereof. <br />Sec. 2. That he shall prepare and submit to the Council all <br />resolutions and ordinances of whatsoever character or nature necessary, <br />for all public improvements and for the issuance of bonds and every purpose <br />authorized by law, and that he shall prepare x+7.1 other resolutions aiad <br />ordinances as such are requested by this Council or any department of <br />this Villageo <br />See@ 3. That he shall be appointed for a period of two (2) years <br />ending December 31st, 1953, and shall receive as compensation the sum of <br />Eight Hundred Dollars 0800000) per annum, payable in equal monthly install <br />meats, which compensation shall cover all general services rendered the <br />said Village as such le gal oounsel, with the exception of the following: <br />(aj That such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum at <br />the rate of Fifty Dollars 050000; per diem for time spent on <br />behalf of the said .Village or ax.~y department or officer thereof <br />in any trial or proceeding before any court ( other than the <br />Mayor's court) or before any other public Board or Commission <br />( other than a Board or Commission of said Village), and for <br />time spent in preparation for any such trial or proceeding; <br />(b) That such legal oounsel shall be paid the additional sum of <br />$150®00 for legal services rendered in connection with each <br />bond issue of said Village, such services to include the <br />preparation of the necessary le gislation and the supervision <br />of the preparation of transcripts of the proceedings in <br />connection therewith. <br />
