PROVIDE FOR THE OFFICES AND COTtIPENSATIO~iT OF <br />MARSHALL AND CHIEF ~?F POLICE AND SPECIAL POLICEII4EN <br />BE IT ORDAII~D BY THF, COUNCIL OF Tt1~E VILLAGE OF 7v1AYFIELU, CUYAHOGA COIINTY, <br />OF3I0, TFIA~ : _ . <br />Sec® 14 Offices. On and after April 1, 1952, the Police <br />Department of the Village of ~~Iayfiald shall consist of the f:Bllovring <br />offices: <br />(a) P•2arshall. who shall be designated as Chief of Poli c®, and <br />shall bo an. elector of t'rze Village of i'dayfield9 <br />(b) Special Policemen. <br />. Sec. 2. Appointment and Tenured All officers of the Police <br />Department shall be appointed by the Niayor, by and with the eonsen't of the <br />aouncilg Such appointment shall be made according to the lags of the State <br />of Ohio f or a probationary period of six months continuous sorvico. At <br />the end of such probationary period, the Bllayor shall •transmit to Council <br />the record of service of such appointee. Z~ri.th his recommendations thereon, <br />and such appointment shall then becoma final upon approval by both the <br />?'~ayor and Couzzcil. Thereafter the term of the person so appointed shall <br />be according to the lazes of the Stato of Ohio. <br />Svc. 3. Comuensation. On and after April 1, 1952, the following <br />compensation shall be;paid, but may be changed at any time by Council <br />by Ordinance, Resolution or Motion: <br />1Vlarshall or Chief of Police, ~350.OO per month <br />Special Policeman ~1~25 for each hour during which <br />he serves as such, .on the call of the Mayor or <br />Chief of I'olicv. <br />A Special Policeman shall serve only at such times and during <br />such hours as shall be assigned to him by either the mayor or the Chief of <br />Polico; provided, hovrovvr, that the total number of hours to be served <br />by all Special Policemen during any one calendar month shall not be in <br />excess of 125. Special arrangements may be made by Council with Special <br />Policemen whereby they shall not be paid for any police service performed <br />in connection with the operation of their own business. <br />Svc. 4a Bond® Each officer of the Police Department shall give <br />bond in the sum of. 500.00, with good and sufficient.surety, to be appraved <br />by the l~eyor~ <br />
