WHEREA.S, the Cou7.lcil deems- it for the: best interest of,the 'Pillage to provide legal eounsel'for the same and Por the officers thereof. • NOW?, THEREFORE; BE IT ORDgINED by.the,Council of_the Village of Mayfield' Cuyahoga County9: State.-of Ohio. Seetion Io That the law:firm of Spring9 Sayre and Vail be and it is hereby employed to act.as legal counsel-for said::Village and the officers thereof in their.offici.al capacity, and_as..such to proseeute-or defend a11 actionsy by or against.said-Village,.or any department or off icer thereof. -Section 2m TYxat it; shall prepare and..submi:t..to the Council_a11 resoliztions and ordinances.of whatsoever character or natu:re necessary9 for all publ.ic improvements and for the issuanee of.bonds.and--every purpose author- ized by 1aw, and that..it.shalZ prepax'e a4 other resolutions and ordin.ances as sta.ch are requested by this Council or any department of this Villagea Section 3o That it sha11 be appointed for.a period of one..(1) year ending Januasy lst9 19349 and sha]1 reeeive as compensation the sum of Four Hundred-DoZlars ($400.00) per annum9 payable:i.n.substantially equal month- ? ly installments' wha.ch compensation,.shaLl. cover- a11 general services rendered the said Village as sueh legal counsel9 provided9.howeger,--that said legal counsel shall be paid additional.compensation i.ri the amount of One Hundred Dollars for legal services rendersd in connection wi.th each improvemEnt made by the Village and the preparation of legislation in. conneetion therowith, which additional compensation shall9 in the ease of a special assessment im- provement9 be charged.agai.nst the.respective.improvement.and sha11 be included as a part of the eost thereof, and provic3.ed, further that it.. sha11 receive the sum of Twenty-fivs 1Do1].ars per diem fos° time ?pent 3n eourt, other than in Mayox°'s Cov.i t' 3.n the Iitigation of Vill.age matters.
