PARKER V <br />AN ORDINANCE nROUTDING FdR Ti-E E1JPLOYNlENT OF LEGAL COUAtSEL <br />rOR THE VILi.AGE OF MAYFIELD. <br />WIiEREAS, the Council deems it for the bes-t interest of the Village to <br />pravide 1egal counsel for the same:and for the ofi°icer,s thereoi. <br />N(1W, THEREFORE, BE IT.ORDAIlVED by the CounciZ oz the Village of Mayfield' <br />Cuyahoga County, State of Ohio: . <br />Section .1. Tha-t 'Ulie law firm of Sayre, VaiZ and Do_rn be a,nd it. is hereby <br />employed to act as Iegal counsel for said.village and the officers thereof in <br />their officiaZ eapa_city, and as such to prosecute or defend aIT actions, by or <br />against saicl Village, or any department or officer thereof. <br />Section 2. That ii: ShalI prepare and submit to the Council aI1 resolutions <br />and ordinances of whatsoever ehara.cter or nature necessary,. for a].1 public <br />improvements and for the issuance of bonds andevery purpose authorized by law, <br />and -that it shall prepare aTI other'resolvtions and ordinances as suah are <br />requested by this Council.or any depastment of this Village: ?. <br />Sectlon 3. That it shall be appoi.nted for a period of t?,,,o (2) years end.ing <br />DecEmber 31st, 1941, a.n shal1 receive as compensatian the sum of Four Hunared and <br />Fifty Dollars ($450.00per annum, payable in equal monthly insta.llments, tvhich compensation sha11 cover aI1 general services rendered the said ViLlage as such <br />legaZ counsel, provided, however, that said!Iegal counsel shaZl be paid additional <br />compensation in the amount of One HundredGlla:rs ior legal-services rendered in <br />connection with each improvement made by the Village ancl.the preparation of <br />Iegisla.tion in eonnection theretvi.th., lvhich additional compensation sha11, in the <br />case of a speciaT.assessment improvementU-be charged against the respeciive improve- <br />ment and sha.71 be incZuded as a par-t ofivbhe cost thereoF, and provided, further <br />that it shaLt receive the sum of 2`wenty-five DoTlars per, diem sor time spent in <br />caurt, other than in Mayor!s Court,' in the I.itiga'uion of Village matters. The <br />cornpensation herein_provided #'or? except that to be charged against a special <br />assessment improvenent, shall be payabl.e ou'u o#'.the General Fund of said Village. <br />Section 4. Tha-t any necessary reasonabl/expenses incurred in the performance <br />of its duties shal.I., a.fter being approved by -this Council be authorized, to be paid. <br />Sec-tion 5.
