CALLSA <br />BE IT ORIIAINED SY THE COUNCIL ~' THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />OIiI 0, THAT : .. - _ -- . - - . _ - . - . <br />Sec. 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. l~76 is hereby amer_ded to read <br />as f o1loVrs :. - <br />"Sec: 3. The Fire Department is authorized to act and to <br />use the fire apparatus of the Village in times of emergency to <br />safeguard life, limb, property,. and the public safety and health. <br />The Chief of the Fire Department shall, be paid the sum of X10.00 <br />for-each fire or emergency call up to the first hour thereof. Each <br />other officer of the fire department shal]. be paid the sum of X5.00 <br />for each fire or emergency call up to the first hour thereof. ~ Each <br />other volunteer fireman shall be paid the sum of ~~1~.00 for each <br />fire or emergency call up to the first hour thereof. The Chief of <br />the Fire Department each officer and each volunteer fireman shall <br />be pa~.d:the sum of 1.00 for each additional hour or major portion <br />thereof spent in answering such fire or emergency .ca7.l., . A_ fire. <br />call'"or emergency call shall be deemed to begin when, the fire <br />equipinerit leaves its regular station and to end when .it has been <br />returned thereto. The Chief of the Fire Department is authorized <br />to employ a fireman, whose duties shall be to remain in the fire <br />station and answer telephones,. work upon and maintain the fire <br />equipment, and to perform incidental duties with3:ri: the .confines <br />of the fire' station. -Such :fire~aca may be removed. at` any time ~ at <br />the pleasure of the rlayarhor .Chief of the "Fire ~ I?ep~.rtment and he <br />si~.ll be paid the sum of X1.25, for each hour; worked and shall be <br />employed for not more than ~0 hours .i.n arty one month. The assistant <br />Chief shall act as Chief of the Fire Department ,in 'the absence of <br />the Chief, and shall receive the -.same _compensation. as the Chief <br />would receive when he is so acting; at all other times the <br />Assistant Chief shall be paid at the same rate of compensation <br />as other officers: ~of the Fire Department." <br />Sec® 2. Existing Section 3 of Ordinance ~l~76 is hereby repealed <br />as of the -effective date of this Ordinance. _. <br />Sec~3. This Ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure, necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare <br />of the Village of Nayfield and its inhabitants in order to obtain the best <br />,n <br />,. <br />
