ORDINANCE No. 527 By Nor. ~Strater AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF LEGAL ..COUNSEL FOR. T$E VILLAGE OF MAYFIELp WHEREAS, the Council deems it for the best interest of the Village to provide legal counsel for the same and for the officers thereof. NOW, THEREFO ~, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, C UYAHOGA COUNTY, .STATE OF .OHIO: , , _ _ _ , , Sec® `l. ~ That~Arnold~ ~. Edelman, attorney at law, be, and hs is hereby employed to act as legal counsel for said Village and the officers thereof in their official capacity, and as such to prosecute or defend all actions, by or against said_Vill.age, or any department or officer thereof. .. Sec. 2. That he shall prepare and submit to the Council a11. ' resolutions and, ordinances of trhatsoever character or nature necessary, for all public improvements and for the issuance of bonds and every purpose authorized by laaa, and that he wi11 prepare a]1 other resolutions and ordinances as such are requested by this Council or any department of this Villageo Sec. 3. That he shall. be appointed for a period of two (2) years ending e~cember 31st, 1957, and shall receive as compensation the .sum of Fifteen .Hundred Dollars (1500.00) per annum, payable in equal monthly installments, which compensation shall cover a11, general services rendered the said Village as such legal counsel, Taith the exception of the foll.ow- ing~ . (a) That such legal counsel shall be aid the additional stun at _ the rate of Fifty Dollars (~p50.00~ per diem for time spent on behalf of the said.Village, or any. department or officer thereof in any trial or proceeding before any court ( other than the ~'Ia.yor°s court) or before any other public Board or Commission ( other than a Board or Commission of said. Village ), and for time spent in preparation for any such trial or proceeding; (b) That such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum of X250.00 for legal services rendered in connection with each general obligation bond issue of said Village and ~~500,00 for legal services in connection with. each special•.assessment bond issue of said Village, such services to include the preparation of the necessary legislation and the supervision ,.. of the preparation of transcripts of the proceedings in connection therewith.
