ORDINANCE No® 759 <br />By Hr, Sloan <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NOS. 476, <br />AS AMENDED BY, ORDINANCES NOS, 525 AND 604, BY INCREASINC,~ <br />COMPENSATION OF VOLUIQTEER FIREMEN FOR OVERTIME AND STATION <br />HOUSE DUTY <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />OHIO, THATe <br />Sec, 1, Section 3 of Ordinance No, 4.76, entitled; °fAn Ordinance Re- <br />Codifying the Various Ordinances Establishing and Creating a Volunteer Fire <br />Department for the Village of Nlayf field, Adding the Position of Assistant <br />Chief, and Repealing Ordinances Nos® 231, 292, 302, 412, 434, 462, and A11 <br />Ordinances Inconsistent Herewith", as amended by Ordinances Nos. 525 and <br />604, is hereby attiended to read as follows: <br />"'Sec. 3, The Fire 7epartment is authorized to'aet~and to use <br />the~f ire apparatus of the Village in times of emergency to'safeguard <br />life, limb, property, and the public safety and healtho The Chief <br />of the Fire Department shall be paid the sum of $10 a 00 for each fire <br />or emergency call up to the first hour thereof, Each other officer <br />of the Fire Department shall: be paid the sum of X5.00 for each fire <br />or emergency call up to the first hour thereof, .Each other volunteer <br />fireman shall be paid the 'sum of X4,00 for each fire or emergency <br />call up to the first hour thereof ~ The Chief of the Fire Department, <br />each officer and each volunteer fireman shall be paid,the sum of <br />$1.85 for each additional hour or major portion thereof spent in <br />answering such. fire or emergency call, A Fire call or emergency <br />call shall be deemed to begin when the fire equipment leaves its <br />regular station and •to end when it has been returned thereto. The <br />Chief of the Fire Department is authorized to employ a fireman <br />whose duties shall-be to remain in the fire station and answer <br />telephones, work upon and maintain the fire equipment, and to <br />perf orm incidental duties within the conf fines of the fire statione <br />Such fireman may be removed at any time at •the pleasure of the Mayor <br />or Chief of the Fire Department and he shall be paid the sum of $1,85 <br />for each hour worked and shall be employed for not more than'40 hours <br />in any one montho .The Assistant Chief shall act as Chief of the Fire <br />Department in the absence of the Chief, and shall receive the same <br />compensation as the Chief would receive when he is so acting; at all <br />other times the Assistant Chief shall be paid at the same rate of. <br />compensation as other officers of the Fire Department. If the Chief <br />of the Fire Department does not personally answer a particular call <br />involving a building fire, but makes a written report regarding said <br />building fire to the State Fire rlarshall, or other Department of the <br />State of Ohio, the Chief of_the Fire Department shall receive the sum <br />of ~10~00 for making said report, even though the Assistant Chief also <br />
