ORDINANCE No® 759 By Hr, Sloan AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NOS. 476, AS AMENDED BY, ORDINANCES NOS, 525 AND 604, BY INCREASINC,~ COMPENSATION OF VOLUIQTEER FIREMEN FOR OVERTIME AND STATION HOUSE DUTY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY OHIO, THATe Sec, 1, Section 3 of Ordinance No, 4.76, entitled; °fAn Ordinance Re- Codifying the Various Ordinances Establishing and Creating a Volunteer Fire Department for the Village of Nlayf field, Adding the Position of Assistant Chief, and Repealing Ordinances Nos® 231, 292, 302, 412, 434, 462, and A11 Ordinances Inconsistent Herewith", as amended by Ordinances Nos. 525 and 604, is hereby attiended to read as follows: "'Sec. 3, The Fire 7epartment is authorized to'aet~and to use the~f ire apparatus of the Village in times of emergency to'safeguard life, limb, property, and the public safety and healtho The Chief of the Fire Department shall be paid the sum of $10 a 00 for each fire or emergency call up to the first hour thereof, Each other officer of the Fire Department shall: be paid the sum of X5.00 for each fire or emergency call up to the first hour thereof, .Each other volunteer fireman shall be paid the 'sum of X4,00 for each fire or emergency call up to the first hour thereof ~ The Chief of the Fire Department, each officer and each volunteer fireman shall be paid,the sum of $1.85 for each additional hour or major portion thereof spent in answering such. fire or emergency call, A Fire call or emergency call shall be deemed to begin when the fire equipment leaves its regular station and •to end when it has been returned thereto. The Chief of the Fire Department is authorized to employ a fireman whose duties shall-be to remain in the fire station and answer telephones, work upon and maintain the fire equipment, and to perf orm incidental duties within the conf fines of the fire statione Such fireman may be removed at any time at •the pleasure of the Mayor or Chief of the Fire Department and he shall be paid the sum of $1,85 for each hour worked and shall be employed for not more than'40 hours in any one montho .The Assistant Chief shall act as Chief of the Fire Department in the absence of the Chief, and shall receive the same compensation as the Chief would receive when he is so acting; at all other times the Assistant Chief shall be paid at the same rate of. compensation as other officers of the Fire Department. If the Chief of the Fire Department does not personally answer a particular call involving a building fire, but makes a written report regarding said building fire to the State Fire rlarshall, or other Department of the State of Ohio, the Chief of_the Fire Department shall receive the sum of ~10~00 for making said report, even though the Assistant Chief also
