Ordinance No. 790 <br />By Mr. Mason <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 110 OF ORDINANCE <br />N0. 309, THE TRAFFIC ..ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF <br />MAYFIELD,.INSOFAR AS THE.SAME APPLIES TO A DRIVER <br />PASSING .,A SCHOOL BUS - <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE DF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />OHIO, THAT; _ .. - . - <br />Sec. 1. Section 110 of Ordinance No. 309, entitled; "An Ordinance <br />to Regulate Traff is on the Streets and Public Highways of the Village of <br />Mayf field, and Regealing Ordinances Nos. 5, 55,.90, and 307 " , is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br />"Sec. 110 - Passing School Bus and Starting Same. <br />"(a) The driver of a vehicle, when approaching the front or <br />rear of a school bus that has come to a stop upon a highway within <br />the Village of Mayf field, which bus is in the act of receiving or <br />discharging any school child, shall stop said vehicle not less than <br />10 feet from such school bus and shall keep such vehicle stationary <br />until such child has entered said bus or has alighted and reached <br />the side of such highway. <br />"(b~ No School Bus Driver shall start his bus until after <br />any child, who has alighted therefrom has reached a place of safety." <br />Sec. 2. In all other respects said Ordinance No. 309, as amended <br />from time to time, shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Sec. 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety <br />and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, because of the <br />heed of protecting the lives and limbs of school children, and said Ordinance <br />shall be in force and eff ect immediately upon the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 18th day of March, 1963® <br />Attest; <br />D4ayor - President of Council <br />(SEAL) i~~`` C1 k <br />
