ORDINANCE No. 801 <br />By Mr. Belzer <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PURCHASE A NEW POLICE AUT(Tr40BTLE <br />FROM NE'WMAN MOTORS, INC. ..-_ <br />WHEREAS, Newman Motors, Inc., a responsible bidder, duly filed its <br />bid with the C1_erk of the Village-of Mayf field, in accordance with law, offering <br />to sell to the Village a new 1963 Pontiac Station Wagon automobile, with <br />certain equipment, for the~sum of Three Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-One <br />and 25/1.00 ($3,271-;25) Dollars, plus title charges, less an allowance of <br />Five Hundred. Twenty-One and 25/100 ($521.25) Dollats for a 1960 Plymouth <br />Station Wagon now being used by the. Village_Police Department, which said <br />Newman Motors, Inc. is to purchase from the Village, making a net 'cash <br />difference of $2,750.00, all being in accordance with the specif ications <br />established in-connection with the Notice for Bids and in accordance with <br />the bid submitted by said Newman Motors, Inc.;. and <br />WHEREAS, said bid of Newman Motors, Inc. is the lowest and best bid <br />submitted., - <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL. OF THE VII,L~AGE OF MAYFIEI,D, <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY OHIO, THAT:. ~.__ . <br />Sec. 1. The bid of Newman pSotors, Inc., offering to sell to the <br />Village of Mayffield a new 1963 Pontiac Station Wagon, together-with the <br />equipment described in its bid submitted in response to the advertisement for <br />bids, for the total sum of $3,271.25, plus title charges, and offering to <br />purchase from the Village its used 1960 Plymouth Station Wagon for the sum <br />of $521.25, leaving a balance of $2,750.00 and title charges to be paid to <br />Newman Motors, Inc., be and the same is hereby accepted, <br />Sec. 2. The Mayor and the Clerk of the Village are hereby authorized <br />and empowered to execute all such documents and do all things necessary to <br />carry out the provisions of this ordinance. <br />Sec. 3. This Ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure, necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welf are <br />of the Village of Mayffield and its inhabitants, in order to obtain as soon as <br />economie_ally possible better police protection through more efficient equipment, <br />and the said ordinance shall go into effect and be in force immediately upon <br />the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 20th day of May, 1963. /~ <br />Attest : v ~- ~ ~ ~~~ ~~~- <br />Mayor - President of Counci <br />SEAZ) ~ ~ ~~ Cle`rk <br />
