RESOLUTION N0. 86-16 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO <br />SHERMAN-BARON, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN <br />THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THREE DOLLARS <br />($10,253.00) FOR PURCHASE OF LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY <br />INSURANCE FROM EDWARD J. HULL & <br />ASSOCIATES, INC., DECLARING THE SAME TO <br />BE NON-COMPETITIV E AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Village insurance consultant, Edward H. Sutton <br />Insurance Agency, has advised the municipality that only one company, <br />Edward J. Hull & Associates, Inc., has off ered to provide the munici- <br />pality with law enforcement professional liability insurance; and <br />WHEREAS, the current policy of law enforcement professional <br />liability insurance is set to expire; and <br />WHEREAS, since only one company is willing to provide the <br />municipality with the subject insurance coverage the same is hereby <br />declared to be a non-competitive item thereby exempted from the bid <br />requirements of the Charter ancl the laws of the State of Ohio; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Niayor and Director of Finance are hereby <br />authorized and directed to execute a contract with Sherman-Baron, Inc. <br />in an amount not to exceec3 Ten Thousand Two Hunc3red Fifty Three <br />Dollars ($10,253.00) for the purchase of law enforcement professional <br />liability insurance from Edward J. Hull & Associates, Inc. The terms <br />and conditions of the aforesaid contract shall be in accordance with <br />the proposal submitted by Edward J. Hull & Associates, Inc. <br />Set tion 2. The item purchased herein is hereby declared <br />to be a non-competitive item for the reasons set f orth in the preamble <br />hereto. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council anc3 of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfielc] Village for <br />the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto.
